Our Roots
Our family business was established in 1912 as a canning operation for homegrown wild blueberries. In 1976, it became a freezing (IQF) processor for family, company, and independent wild blueberry farmers. The family business, now in its 5th generation, maintains and harvests blueberries on 1,200 acres in mid-coast and downeast Maine.
Today, we grow, harvest, and process approximately 1.5 million pounds of Wild Maine blueberries. Packaging is in 10-pound boxes for our retail operation and 30-pound cartons of IQF Wild Blueberries for our wholesale distribution business.
We may be the smallest grower and processor, but we are recognized by both competitors and customers for delivering the highest-quality (USDA grade A) frozen wild blueberries to market.
Our primary markets for our grade A product are concentrated in bakeries, jam/jelly makers, and food service. A secondary market is with wine and juice makers for our ungraded and juice stock.
