A Sweet Partnership
Allen's Wild Blueberries and Stone Fox Farm Creamery
At Allen's Wild Blueberries, our story began in 1912 as a humble canning operation for home-grown wild blueberries. Fast forward to 1976, we transformed into a freezing (IQF) processor, serving our family and independent wild blueberry farmers. Now, in our fifth generation, we maintain and harvest blueberries on 1,200 acres across mid-coast and Downeast Maine.
Today, we grow, harvest, and process approximately 1.5 million pounds of wild Maine blueberries annually. Our packaging includes 10-pound boxes for retail and 30-pound cartons of IQF wild blueberries for wholesale distribution. Although we might be the smallest grower and processor, we pride ourselves on delivering the highest quality (USDA Grade A) frozen wild blueberries to the market.
Our journey took an exciting turn when Stone Fox Farm Creamery reached out to us. Passionate about supporting local businesses, they use Maine-grown ingredients whenever possible. Our blueberries were a perfect fit for their homemade, super premium ice cream.
Stone Fox Farm Creamery produces and sells ice cream from their shop in Searsport, Maine. Their close-knit team is dedicated to quality. They use milk and cream from Maine farms, real sugar, and natural flavorings and extracts. Their Carpigiani batch freezer creates an incredibly smooth and creamy product with minimal air incorporated, resulting in a superior ice cream experience. They offer approximately 25 flavors, some of which are seasonal.
Our collaboration has been a natural fit, blending two beloved products into one irresistible treat. The result? A blueberry ice cream that celebrates the best of what Maine has to offer. Both businesses benefit from this partnership, as do our customers who adore the combination.
